My Dream Pedicure

Am I the only one out there who has become tired of the constant noise going on an nail salons. It seems like every time I go in someone is on the phone while other people are loudly carrying on conversations about topics they should probably be keeping private. What used to be an experience that was relaxing and enjoyable has become another chore on my to do list.

That was until my recent experience. My son gave me a gift certificate for a local spa called Ummelina. This experience was completely different. They started me off sitting in a quiet room sipping a cup of peppermint tea. When it was time to start my treatment my nail technician came out and gave me a foot soak in beautifully scented water. She then gave me a lovely scrub and massage. All the while the room was quiet. There was only the sound of soft music playing.

Next, we went back to a private room and I laid down on a slightly inclined massage type table, with a bolster under my knees and relaxed quietly. My technician gave me the most relaxing yet beautiful pedicure ever. She was so thorough in fixing some problems, but still making every step of the way enjoyable.

After she was done I went back to the relaxing tea room and sat in the peacefulness while my nails dried. I left feeling so relaxed and my feet look great.

I see the value in having a fun girls afternoon getting pedicures and catching up. What I am struggling with is the constant need for noise in our current world. Do we need to have loud public conversations on the phone? DO we need to talk just to fill the silence. I am loving adding some quiet space into my life. If you haven’t found this lately, maybe look for some alternatives to the activities of your life!

Cheers!
