Tracy Widner: Farmer’s Daughter Flowers and Marketplace

This is my first of many posts featuring amazing women. I love it when women chase the life they dream of, and all of these women are definitely dream chasers. Today I am featuring Tracy Widner. It was serendipitous that a ran in to Tracy after years of not seeing her. We originally met when we each had a child in the same kindergarten class and we were both pregnant. We ended up giving birth to our youngest children on the same day!

Recently I wondered in to a new flower shop in my hometown, Selah, Washington. It was one of those shops that instantly connected to my personal style. The flower arrangements reminded me of an arrangement picked from a dream flower garden and arranged beautifully. I love that more organic look!

Tracy began arranging flowers as a hobby about five years ago. She loves do all kinds of crafts and loves the creative outlet that her shop is giving her. Tracy says, “I love making beautiful things and keeping the prices affordable”.

How could I not love Tracy when I saw her vintage camper. It just makes me smile. She brings it to events as well as rents it for weddings. Hmm-mm, I know of a wedding coming up in the next year. I wonder if my son and his fiancé want a camper at their wedding???

I asked Tracy what gave her the courage to chase her dream now. She said it was the right time in life to take a chance. Her children are all adults, and she knew she didn’t want to work for the school district forever. Tracy is thrilled with the response she has gotten from the community (I must agree, because she was swamped as we were having this interview!)
Tracy hopes that one day one of her children will run the business so she can focus on her love of the creative side of things.

Farmer’s Daughter also makes beautiful gift baskets if you are looking for something other than flowers.

A would be remiss to discuss an amazing woman’s pursuit of an elegant life without asking about her bucket list. Tracy has a bucket list I can relate to (we may have to become travel partner), she wants to see the world. Her travel plans in the near future include Nashville. I’m so excited for her. Her list also includes Bali, Belize, and Europe. I can’t wait to see where her dreams take her next!

Cheers!
